Hillary Clinton about Lewinsky

Hillary Clinton has broken her silence about the anguish she went through after knowing about her husband and former US President Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky, exactly 10 years after the incident was first reported.

In a interview on Fox’s Tyra Banks Show, the former first lady frankly revealed how she worked through the inner suffering, but added that she “never doubted” her husband’s love for her.

“I never doubted Bill’s love for me, ever,” she said.

“But I had to decide what I ought to do, I think it is so important to be able to hear yourself at a moment when it is hard . . . there are so many times when you really have to listen to yourself,” she added.

The US Presidential hopeful was left shamed after it emerged her husband had cheated on her with Lewinsky.

At the start Bill swore under oath that he “did not have sexual relations” with Lewinsky - but later admitted that he had misled the American public.

Asked by Banks if she had been embarrassed by the affair, Hilary replied: “Sure, all of that.”

“But I was just praying so hard and thinking so hard about what’s right to do that I couldn’t let anything else interfere with that.

“The momentary feelings - you’re mad, you’re really upset, you’re disappointed - all of that goes through your mind.

“But I have found that you really shouldn’t make decisions in the heat of those moments. You have to think about it,” she added.

Hilary further said that women whose husbands have cheated on them often ask her what they should do, but she argued that every case was unique, reports Times Online.

“I say you have to be true to yourself. No one story is the same as any other story,” she said.

“I don’t know your reality. I can’t possibly substitute my judgment for yours, but what I can tell you is you must be true to yourself. You have to do what is right for you,” she added
