Jul 28, 2009 Author: Patrick Daniels | Filed under: John Lennon

If you are discussing music icon and legends, at the top of the list you will most likely find the Beatles. They are music legends and have a fan base that has continued to grown since their very first hit single. Each year new generation of Beatles fans emerge and lifetime fans reminisce.

The Beatles; John, Paul, George and Ringo, have been living in the hearts of many music lovers form the first line that they heard. However, even new fans, and those unfamiliar to the Beatles, will be able to fully enjoy the BEATLES Hard Days Night CD.

Hard Days Night, was the first album release that was full of original material, and put them on the track to become the greatest pop band of all times. Many argue that their legacy began much earlier in their career, this was the Fab Fours most popular album to date. With tracks like I Should Have Known Better, And I Love Her, Cant Buy Me Love and Hard Days Night, it is easy to see why this was such a huge hit.

Although this album has been available, on vinyl, since its original release, there is nothing compared to listen to it on CD. The crisp and clear sound quality will make you think you are listening to it for the first time, and the CD format will bring in a whole new, and younger, generations of fans.

This whole album bring forth a feeling of excitement and joy. It goes without saying that Lennon and McCarthy have a sound that is yet to be matched by any other in the business.

Lock Of John Lennon’s Hair Sells for $48,000

A lock of John Lennon’s hair sold for $48,000 Wednesday in an auction of Beatles’ memorabilia collected by the band’s hairdresser.

The hair — inside an autographed copy of Lennon’s book “A Spaniard in the Works” — sold to an unnamed telephone bidder.

Gorringes auction house had estimated the hair would sell for $4,000 to $6,000.

Lennon gave the book and the lock of hair to Betty Glasow, the Fab Four’s hairdresser during their heyday. He wrote in the book, “To Betty, Lots of Love and Hair, John Lennon xx.”

“It is astonishing that there is still so much interest in the Beatles and the sale goes to prove that John Lennon is still an icon,” said Francesca Collin, a spokeswoman for Gorringes.

“To have some of Lennon’s hair along with a signed note from him really does give it fantastic provenance and authenticity,” Collin said.

Glasow, who kept the Beatles’ moptops trimmed on the set of their films “A Hard Day’s Night” and “Help!” in the 1960s, decided to sell the items because she wanted fans to have them, said Nick Muston, a director of the auction house.

“She feels that rather than these things being stuck in a drawer with nobody enjoying them, real enthusiasts (could) get their hands on these things,” Muston said.

Other items sold at the auction in Worthing included signed photographs of the band dedicated to Glasow, including one that George Harrison signed “George “Dandruff” Harrison.” It sold for $13,000.

By the way guys, I have one of John’s nails somewhere! Any buyers?
